 Match Curve Tool Icon

Match Curve Tool

What it Does

Automatically reshapes one curve to match the exact form of another curve, ensuring perfect alignment for seam assembly. The tool uses anchor points to establish proper orientation and then adjusts the shape of the target curve to eliminate fitting problems and create seamless connections between pattern pieces.

tip

Hover over endpoint names to see the corresponding points highlight in the workspace, making it easy to select the correct anchor points for proper alignment.

How to Use

  1. Activate the tool by clicking the Match Curve icon
  2. Click to select the target curve for shaping (the curve that will serve as the template)
  3. Click to select the curve to be changed (the curve that will be reshaped to match)
  4. The names of the target curve endpoints will be displayed
  5. Hover over endpoint names to see corresponding points highlight in the workspace
  6. Select the anchor point of the target curve (this establishes the reference alignment)
  7. The names of the changing curve endpoints will be displayed
  8. Select the anchor point of the changing curve that should match to the target anchor
  9. Click Save to apply the curve matching or Cancel to abort
warning

The curves must have the same number of curve points to use this tool. If your curves have different point counts, use the Add Curve Point tool first to equalize them.
