Registered darts automatically balance uneven leg lengths using the distance from pivot to stationary leg as the standard, ensuring both legs are perfectly equal for professional construction.

How to Use

1. Activate the tool by clicking the Register Dart icon
2. Select the dart apex point (the pivot point where both dart legs meet)
3. Select the dart leg point that will stay in place (stationary leg endpoint)
4. Select the dart leg point that will fold over (moving leg endpoint)
5. Select the point representing the direction the dart will fold over:
6. Typically positioned to the right of the stationary leg point
7. Determines fold direction for proper dart construction
8. Influences center point calculation for pattern cutting
9. Enter a descriptive name for the dart (letters and numbers only)
10. Review the automatically generated dart legs and center point
11. Click Save to register the dart or Cancel to abort

The fold direction point is typically to the right of the stationary leg point. This determines how the dart will behave during construction and pattern manipulation. It also calculates the extension need to the pattern edge for folding.

After printing your pattern, always fold the dart closed in the proper direction to make sure the extension is accurate before cutting our your fashion fabric.
