Backup Data
What it Does
Patternmaker Pro saves all the data it creates to your local computer's browser. Nothing is transmitted back to1. our servers, which keeps everything very private. This is great, but it also means that you are responsible for making sure your data is backed up in case of a failure. As your drafting library grows, you and possibly yo1. ur business will become more dependent on all your past drafts and measurement sets.
The Backup Data tool allows you to create a file that contains all the data from the database in your browser. You can then place that file in a secure location on your local hard drive, a portable drive, or another computer. If something goes wrong, you'll have the peace of mind knowing that you can recover everything.
How to Use
- Select
File > Backup Datafrom the main menu. - Your local file browser will open. Choose a location for the new file on your local system. You may also choose to change the name to something more meaningful to you.
- The system creates a JSON file that it can then use to restore your data.
The more dependent you are on the program, the more often you should create backups.
Keyboard shortcuts are not saved to the database. Those will need to be mapped again manually.
