Change Line/Curve Seam Allowance Tool

What it Does

Overrides default seam allowances on selected pattern edges with specialized measurements. The tool provides flexible options including preset defaults for common edge types or custom values for unique construction requirements, enabling precise control over individual pattern elements.

Select multiple lines or curves at once to apply the same seam allowance change efficiently across related pattern edges.

How to Use

  1. Activate the tool by clicking the Change Line/Curve Seam Allowance icon
  2. Select one or more lines or curves on your pattern
  3. Choose a seam allowance value from the options:
    • General Default: Standard allowance
    • Neckline Default: Preset neckline allowance
    • Armhole Default: Preset armhole allowance
    • Custom Value: Enter a specific measurement
  4. If selecting Custom Value, enter the specific allowance amount
  5. Click Save to apply the changes or Cancel to abort

Changes apply only to selected edges. Unselected pattern elements retain their current seam allowance settings.

tip

Whenever possible choose from the defaults to ensure consistent seam allowances between pattern pieces that will be sewn together.
