Add Cut on Fold Tool
What it Does
Creates the internationally recognized "cut on fold" symbol consisting of arrows pointing toward the fold line and bracket notation. This marking illustrates where to place the pattern edge directly against a fabric fold, creating a symmetrical piece when the fabric is unfolded.
tip
For optimal workflow, add this marking after creating seam allowances or on a separate layer that can be toggled off when selecting pattern outlines for further editing.
How to Use
- Activate the tool by clicking the
Add Cut on Foldicon - Select the line that will serve as the fold edge on your pattern piece
- If the symbol appears on the wrong side of the line, click Other Side to flip the orientation
- Preview the symbol placement to ensure proper positioning
- Click
Saveto apply the cut-on-fold marking orCancel to abort

The fold symbol must be placed on the edge that will align with the fabric fold. Double-check orientation before saving to ensure accurate cutting instructions.
