Add Measurement Text Tool

What it Does

Automatically calculates the total length of selected pattern elements and creates professional measurement annotations. The tool intelligently combines multiple line segments and curves into a single measurement.

tip

Select multiple connected line segments to get a continuous measurement along complex pattern edges like armholes or hip curves.

How to Use

1. Activate the tool by clicking the Add Measurement Text icon
2. Select one or more lines and/or curves to measure
3. Click to select the location where you want the measurement text to appear
4. Use the rotation slider to adjust text angle for optimal readability
5. Preview the measurement annotation placement and rotation
6. Click Save to place the measurement text or Cancel to abort

These measurements do not automatically update. Make sure to apply them at the end of the pattern drafting process.
