The Power of Memorization

Effortless Custom Sizing

No more tedious redrafting! Our sewing pattern drafting software introduces a revolutionary memorization feature. A capability you won't find in any other drafting software. This innovative function automates the pattern adjustment process, saving you countless hours and ensuring a perfect fit every time.

How it Works

Here's how this unique feature streamlines your pattern drafting:

  • Draft Once, Use Forever: Begin by creating your initial pattern draft using all the software's comprehensive tools and any measurement set you desire. This initial draft serves as your master template.
  • Export Your Memorized Draft: Once your draft is complete, you can select Memorized Draft > Export Draft. This export isn't just a static image; it's a dynamic record of all the design choices and tool applications you made.
  • Instant Redrafting with New Measurements: The magic happens when you import that memorized draft. Simply select a completely different set of measurements, and the software will automatically redraft the entire pattern. It intelligently re-applies all your original design decisions and tool actions, substituting the new measurement values to create a perfectly scaled pattern.
  • Custom Patterns, Zero Effort: The result? A custom-sized pattern tailored to your new measurements, generated with virtually no additional effort on your part.

Endless Possibilities

This memorization feature allows for unparalleled flexibility. You can continue to import and redraft your memorized patterns with different measurement sets as many times as you wish. Whether you're creating patterns for various sizes, different individuals, or simply adjusting for a perfect personal fit, our software makes it effortless. Say goodbye to manual adjustments and hello to instant, precision drafting!

Understanding Memorized Draft Limitations

Memorized drafts don't always generate as intended. While PatternMaker Pro recalculates your draft using the chosen measurement set, significant differences between the new measurements and the original ones can result in geometric errors.

For example: A circle might intersect a line in your original draft, but with new measurements, that intersection might no longer exist.

Troubleshooting with Step Through

When you import a memorized draft, you have two options: Step Through Draft or Run the Complete Draft.

  • Run the Complete Draft: This is much quicker and best for drafts you know will work.
  • Step Through Draft: If you encounter an error, use this option. It allows you to watch the draft rebuild in the workspace tool-by-tool, making it easier to see exactly where things go wrong.
Error Timing

Keep in mind that the error message often appears after the actual problem occurs. Using the intersection example above: the software might not alert you immediately when the intersection fails. The error will trigger only when a subsequent tool tries to use that missing point. Keep this lag in mind as you watch the steps unfold.
