Select Active Layer Tool

What it Does

Designates which layer will receive all newly created pattern elements, establishing a clear target for your drawing and construction activities. The active layer controls where points, lines, curves, and other geometry will be placed, ensuring organized pattern development and preventing elements from being added to unintended locations.

The active layer is always highlighted in green in the layer list, and its name appears at the top of your toolbox for easy identification.

How to Use

1. Activate the tool by clicking the Select Active Layer icon
2. Review the hierarchical tree displaying all available layers
3. Click to select the layer where you want new elements to be created
4. The selected layer will be highlighted in green to confirm activation
5. Click Save to confirm the active layer selection or Cancel to abort

All new pattern elements will be created on the active layer until you change the selection. Choose your active layer before beginning any drawing or construction activities.
