Copy Item to Layer Tool
What it Does
Creates identical copies of selected pattern elements and places them on either a new or existing layer. The copied items maintain their geometric properties and relationships while becoming completely independent from the originals.

Copied items are completely independent. Changes to originals won't affect the copies, and vice versa.
How to Use
- Activate the tool by clicking the
Copy Item to Layer Toolicon - Select one or more items to copy
- Choose your destination option:
- Copy to New Layer - Creates a new layer for the copies
- Copy to Existing Layer - Places copies on a layer you select
For Existing Layer Option:
- Select an existing layer from the hierarchical tree
- See Rename Options below
- Choose your completion action:
Save- Copy items and stay on current layerSave & Switch- Copy items and switch to destination layer
For New Layer Option:
- Enter a name for the new layer
- Select a parent layer for the new layer

- Choose your completion action:
Save- Create layer with copies and stay on current layerSave & Switch- Create layer with copies and switch to new layer
Rename Options
- Find and Replace: Enter a string in the "Find" field and the replacement value in the "Replace" field. (e.g., Find: "Front", Replace: "Back")
- Add a Custom Suffix: Leave the "Find" field empty and define your suffix in the "Replace" field only.
- Use Default: Leave both fields empty to automatically add the default suffix, '_Copy'.
