Layer Opacity Tool
What it Does
Adjusts layer transparency from solid (1) to transparent (0) to fade background layers or reference pieces, helping you focus on active work areas without losing access to underlying elements.
tip
Use opacity values between 0.2-0.4 for subtle background references that won't distract from your main work.
How to Use
- Activate the tool by clicking the
Layer Opacity Toolicon - Select the layer you want to change from the layer tree
- Locate the opacity slider in the toolbox
- Drag the slider to adjust opacity - full right is solid (1), full left is transparent (0)
- The layer remains fully selectable at any opacity level
warning
Very low opacity (below 0.1) may make layers difficult to see and select. Consider using values above 0.2 for practical work.
