Change Layer Order Tool

What it Does

Allows you to change the position of the layer in the hierarchy by placing it within another existing layer or creating a separate new layer as the parent.

tip

Choose your parent layer carefully. The new layer will inherit visibility and organizational properties from its parent. Create logical groupings for efficient pattern management.

How to Use

1. Activate the tool by clicking the Change Layer Order icon or pressing
2. Review the hierarchical tree displayed showing existing layers
3. Select the layer you would like to move
4. Choose the parent layer:
5. Create a new parent layer
6. Enter a name for the new parent layer
7. Select the position of the new parent layer
8. Use an existing parent layer
9. Select a parent layer from the tree
10. Save to move the layer to the new position or click Cancel to abort the layer move
