Move Buttons/Buttonholes Tool

What it Does

Transfers complete button and buttonhole sets between layers while preserving all critical closure data including spacing calculations, alignment relationships, sizing specifications, and positional accuracy required for functional garment closures.

This specialized tool maintains button set integrity that standard layer tools might disrupt, ensuring your closures remain perfectly functional after reorganization.

How to Use

1. Activate the tool by clicking the Move Buttons/Buttonholes Tool icon
2. The program displays a list of available button and buttonhole sets
3. Mouse over any set name to highlight the associated elements in the workspace
4. Select the button or buttonhole set you want to move
5. Choose your destination option:
   • Buttons to New Layer - Creates a new layer for the button set
   • Buttons to Existing Layer - Places set on a layer you select

For Existing Layer Option:

1. Select an existing layer from the hierarchical tree
2. Choose your completion action:
   • Save - Move button set and stay on current layer
   • Save & Switch - Move button set and switch to destination layer

For New Layer Option:

1. Enter a name for the new layer
2. Select a parent layer for the new layer
3. Choose your completion action:
   • Save - Create layer with button set and stay on current layer
   • Save & Switch - Create layer with button set and switch to new layer

Button sets are moved as complete units. All related elements including buttons, buttonholes, and alignment data transfer together.
