Create Pattern for Layout Tool

What it Does​

Allows you to define a closed shape from existing lines and curves to create a new pattern specifically for the layout. The new layout pattern is one-quarter scale for use within the layout only.

How to Use​

  1. Activate the tool by clicking the Create Pattern for Layout icon.
  2. Enter a name for the new layout pattern.
  3. Select the lines and curves that form a closed shape. You can also select a full seam allowance or a circle.
  4. If the tool detects an incomplete shape:
  5. Review the error message listing disconnected points and elements.
  6. Check workspace highlighting: purple points and blue lines/curves will show gaps.
  7. Click Cancel to restart and fix connections in your pattern.
  8. The system will indicate that the pattern is now available in the layout system.
  9. Click Save to finalize the new pattern or Cancel to abort.
