Change Line Length Tool

What it Does​

Modifies the length of any selected line with precise numerical control while maintaining the line's angle and direction. You can choose to adjust from the start point, end point, or distribute the change equally from both ends, giving you complete control over how your pattern dimensions are modified.

The blue point represents the start/beginning of the line, and the green point represents the end of the line.

How to Use​

  1. Activate the tool by clicking the Change Line Length icon
  2. Click to select the line you want to modify
  3. Enter a numeric value or formula to change the length (positive to lengthen, negative to shorten)
  4. Select where to apply the change:
  5. Change at Start - Modify from the blue point
  6. Change at End - Modify from the green point
  7. Change Equally at Both Ends - Distribute the change from both endpoints
  8. The new length will be displayed in the Length box
  9. Click Preview to see the revision before committing
  10. Click Save to apply the changes or Cancel to abort
tip

Positive values lengthen the line, negative values shorten it. The preview function helps you verify the change before applying it permanently.
