Match Points Tool

What it Does

Performs a group translation that moves multiple selected points as a cohesive unit to a new location. One point from your selection group is designated to align exactly with a target point, while all other selected points maintain their relative spacing and move by the same distance and direction.

tip

Think of this as picking up a group of points and placing them so that one specific point in the group lands exactly on your target location.

How to Use

1. Activate the tool by clicking the Match Points icon
2. Select one or more points to move (the moving group)
3. Select the target point to move to (destination location)
4. Select a point from the moving group that will align exactly with the target point (the registration point)
5. Click Save to execute the group movement or Cancel to abort

warning

The registration point must be one of the points in your original moving group selection. All points in the group move by the same distance and direction.
