Add Multiple Points Tool

What it Does

Creates multiple points along any line or curve element using precise mathematical distribution. The tool analyzes the total length of your selected element and places points at calculated intervals based on your spacing method. You can also enter a value to offset from the start or end before the spacing calculations are made. An offset will result in an additonal point being added.

tip

The blue point indicates the start of your line/curve, and the green point shows the end direction.

How to Use

1. Activate the tool by clicking the Add Multiple Points icon
2. Select a line or curve element
3. Choose your point distribution method:
   • Number of Points: Enter the number of points to create equal spacing
   • Distance Apart: Enter the distance between consecutive points
4. Choose which end to measure from the start point or the end point.
5. Enter an optional amount to Offset from the measure point before dividing the rest.
6. Click Preview to visualize point positions before saving
7. Enter a descriptive name for the point series
8. Choose save method: Save (preserves original line/curve) or Save & Split (divides line/curve at each point)

warning

You cannot enter values in both the "number of points" and "distance between points" fields simultaneously. Clear one field before using the other.
