Add Point Aligned Tool

What it Does

Creates new points by projecting horizontal or vertical alignment lines from a reference point and finding where they intersect with selected lines or curves. This ensures perfect perpendicular alignment without guesswork or manual calculations.

tip

The red dashed line shows your alignment projection and helps visualize the intersection before creating the point.

How to Use

  1. Activate the tool by clicking the Add Point Aligned icon
  2. Click to select a point to define the alignment reference
  3. Choose alignment direction: Align Horizontal or Align Vertical
  4. A red dashed line appears showing the projection direction
  5. Click on a line or curve that intersects the dashed line
  6. A new point is automatically created at the intersection
  7. Enter a descriptive name for the new point
  8. Choose save option: Save (independent point) or Save & Split (divides the line)
  9. Click your chosen save option or Cancel to abort
warning

The selected line or curve must actually intersect the dashed alignment line for a point to be created.
