Point on Line at Distance Tool

What it Does

Creates a new point by measuring a specific distance from a starting point along a line that runs parallel to the direction established by a reference line point. The tool essentially combines circular distance measurement with linear direction control.

How to Use

  1. Activate the tool by clicking the Point on Line at Distance icon
  2. Click to select the point to measure from (your starting reference point)
  3. Enter the distance to be measured
  4. Click to select the point that defines the reference line direction
  5. Verify the line direction is correct and intersects the distance circle
  6. Click Other Side if you need the point on the opposite side of the circle
  7. Enter a descriptive name for the new point
  8. Click Save to create the point or Cancel to abort
warning

Make sure the parallel line intersects the distance circle. If not, you may need to adjust your reference point or use "Other Side" to get the correct intersection.
