Add Collar Tool

What it Does​

This tool drafts custom collar patterns matched directly to your garment's neckline geometry. By measuring the active front and back neckline curves, the tool automatically calculates the required circumference and generates production-ready pattern pieces for Mandarin/stand collars, one-piece convertible styles, or classic two-piece shirt collars.

Beyond calculating length, the tool constructs the roll line, collar fall, and point geometry using your target stand height, spread, and point extensions. Whether you need a simple stand or a fully developed collar with integrated fastener extensions, it creates accurate seamlines and stylelines directly on your workspace while preserving control points for fine-tuning.

A new Collar Layer will be created within the active layer containing all the collar components.

How to Use​

  1. Activate the tool by clicking the Add Collar icon.
  2. Select one or more lines / curves to measure the front neckline.
  3. Select one or more lines / curves to measure the back neckline.
  4. Enter a value for the stand height.
  5. Select the type of collar:
    • Mandarin / Stand Only
    • One-Piece Convertible
    • Two-Piece Convertible

For Convertible Options:​

  1. Enter a value for the fall / collar height.
  2. Enter a value for the point spread.
  3. Enter a value to extend the collar point further beyond the collar height.

For All:​

  1. If you have a fastener extension, enter the width.
  2. Select a place in the workspace for the pattern to be drawn. The selection is the bottom right corner of the pattern.
  3. Click Save to keep the collar or Cancel to abort.

Customize the shape of your collar by moving any of the curve points after completion.
