Add Pocket Tool

What it Does​

Creates custom pocket patterns with precise dimensional control and automatic placement guidelines. The tool generates both the pocket piece itself and corresponding placement outlines that remain dynamically linked for seamless pattern coordination.

How to Use​

  1. Activate the tool by clicking the Add Pocket icon
  2. Click on the workspace to select the placement location for your pocket pattern
  3. Enter the pocket dimensions in the dialog box:
    • Pocket Width: Enter a number or formula for the horizontal dimension
    • Pocket Height: Enter a number or formula for the vertical dimension
    • Pocket Center Drop: Enter a number or formula to create an angled bottom edge
  4. Click Preview to visualize the pocket shape before committing
  5. Choose your save option:
    • Save Creates the pocket pattern only
    • Save & Create Placement: Creates the pocket and allows you to place a linked outline on another pattern piece
  6. If using Save & Create Placement, click on the target pattern piece to position the placement outline
  7. Click Cancel to abort the operation at any time

When using Save & Create Placement, all pocket points become linked to the placement outline points. Moving the original pocket will automatically update the placement guidelines.
