Measure Line/Curve Tool

What it Does

Calculates precise arc lengths along lines, curves, and complex path segments using advanced geometric algorithms. Unlike straight-line point-to-point distance tools, this measures the actual path length following every curve detail, angle change, and geometric feature of your selected pattern elements.

Select multiple connected elements to get total seamline lengths, or measure individual curves to verify specific section dimensions. The tool handles both straight lines and complex curves with equal precision.

How to Use

1. Activate the tool by clicking the Measure Line/Curve icon
2. Click to select one or more lines and curves to measure
3. Press Calculate to see the total measurement of all selected elements
4. You can leave the tool open and select/deselect different elements as needed
5. Hit Calculate again to see new values with your updated selection
6. Select Close when you're finished using the tool

This tool measures path length along curves and lines, not straight-line distances between endpoints. For direct point-to-point measurements, use the Distance Between Points tool.
